The tragic events in Newtown CT earlier this month
have
affected all of us, and certainly those of us
already burdened with grief.
I know that few of us are in the mood
My Christmas wish for all of us this year
is that we
become more mindful
of the precious gift of life that we all share,
and that we
look into our hearts
for ways that we can demonstrate
compassion and caring
toward our fellow beings,
human and otherwise.
We are all instruments of God’s peace:
As we
struggle to make sense of this tragedy
and find some meaning and purpose in our
lives,
may we remember that God is always with us
in the person of those who
walk this Earth with us.
So much of the help God sends to us
lies in our willingness
to
reach out and support one another.
Whatever our individual religious or spiritual traditions,
may the peace of the season be with all of us
throughout the coming year.
Let there be peace on Earth,
