A reader writes: I wanted to thank you for your wonderful website. I still have much to learn about grief and how to deal with it. But I thank you because through this website I have been able to connect with other people. It's nice to know that there is a place like this that I can go to when I need encouragement. And it feels good to know that I am able to support others during their time of need. ~ A.
My response: Thank you so much for your kind words about my Grief Healing Discussion Groups website. I so appreciate your taking the time to let me know that it is helpful to you. I truly do believe that this message board serves as a virtual bereavement support group, and your statement that it offers you the encouragement you need as well as the good feeling that comes from being able to help others is evidence of that.
I had to smile at your comment that you still have much to learn about grief and how to deal with it. You are in good company, my friend. I've been learning about grief and loss all my life, and I still have much to learn as well, since I also struggle with it when it comes knocking at my own door. Someone once said that grief is all about taking turns. This week it may be your turn to deal with it, but sooner or later it will be my turn. That's why I think it's so important for all of us to learn as much about it as we can, so when it's your turn I can be there for you, and you can be there for me when my turn comes too.
Again I thank you for taking the time to write to me, A. You made my day!
